Hello,

Look, I do my best to help out my guildies...money, free runs to wherever, heck I'll even help with that *&^#! Thunderhead Keep mission.

Sometimes though, I would just like to play and be "invisible" to my guildies.

Is there a way to change my apparent status on the guild screen from "online" to "offline" or "invisible" so that my guildies won't know that I'm on?

Press N and go to player status, or you could just say "no".

What he said.

You have the option to set your status as Online; Away; Do Not Disturb and Offline.

If set as offline, you will not be shown as online on your guild roster. Just don't forget yourself and make a comment in guild chat whilst "offline", that can be embarrassing!

Whereby it would be nice, of course, if one could already pick the preferred status *before* actually loading into the game.
The way it is now, you have to load in first (you appear online), bring up the friendslist-screen and change your status (finally you appear busy/offline/dnd).

I completely agree whith this...would be AWSOME! I am a teacher who made the mistake of letting my in-game name slip to a student...now, whenever I log in...within 10 seconds..."'sup?" Then I spend 10 min chatting and not playing. Now, several of them seem to play with their friends list open and I have to do a quick-draw to the friends screen and hit "offline"...then, of course, I can't farm and sell effectively...I hate to put "friends" on ignore...but it may come to that.

I feel your pain. There are times where I hear the sound from a whisper before my screens fully load after logging in. I can't even access the friends menu before I get the first whisper.

I'm not sure if you can be "invisible" in the guild roster menu. Anyone that is really offline will display the character name that was invited into the guild. If you just set yourself as offline, it will show which character you are on with a status of "offline". Also placing your mouse cursor on top of your name, it will display your invited character name in a pop up window.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. This really is annoying.

^ Yup, only hope they don't remember which name you joined the guild with.
